About the journal
A record of place and season
Boreal Notes is a small independent notebook made in Helsinki.
It began as a way to keep details that rarely survive a calendar entry: the colour of the harbour before rain, the first quiet evening after midsummer, and the sound of tyres on fresh snow.
New entries arrive when there is something worth keeping. The archive follows the year through short field notes and occasional photographs from southern Finland.
Editorial approach
Every note is written from direct observation. The journal uses a light technical footprint, local assets, and simple pages that remain readable on slow connections.
